Summer Camp Essentials

Posted by Spark Spark on

Summer is almost here, and the kiddos will be getting involved in lots of fun activities in the sun! Here are our favorite picks for Summer Camp Essentials:

1 - Personalized Labels

Designed especially for kids heading to day camp! This combination pack of UV resistant, Spark & Spark's waterproof labels have everything needed to avoid mix-ups and lost items at busy day camps this summer. Make sure everything from footwear to food containers, sports gear and more returns back home!

2 - Thermos Water Bottle

A durable water bottle can be crucial for hikes and other long daytime activities. Keeping kids hydrated during the hot summer months is important for their health. This genuine Thermos bottles keep liquids cold for up to 8 hours.

3 - Sunscreen

Not only are sunburns painful, but too much exposure to sunlight can increase the risk of skin cancer. A sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher can make spending summer days outside a safer proposition. We love Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen, which is paraben free and chemical free.

4 - Bug Spray

So don't forget the bug spray — just be sure to use one made for kids, which should contain less of the toxic active ingredient, DEET. We love Jason Quit Bugging Me! Natural Insect Repellant Spray, which keeps bugs at bay for up to 3 hours, and is DEET, PABA and paraben free.

5 - Digital Camera

Help make their memories last (and score a few snapshots for your own collection) with a Digital Camera.

6 - Rash Guards for Water Activities

For those planning to have fun in the water, a rashguard is essential. They give extra UPF protection to the upper body, and are easy to wash and care. We love Coolibar’s collection of rash guards and surf shirts.

7 - Notebook or Journal

Encourage your child to keep a journal or notebook of her camp or summer experiences. For younger kids, you can encourage they draw or make a collage about the experiences. She/He may not realize it now, but later in life, those memories will be meaningful.
